Greenmere

The Rolling Green Sea

Great House: Fairwyn

Founded 1731BDA

Testimony

“The fields are the most beautiful I have ever seen — soft hills, silver lakes, roses climbing every balcony. And yet… I never felt alone there. Even in open daylight, it seemed as though the land itself was listening.”
— Magistrate Corvin Hale of Kingsreach

About

Greenmere is a land of rolling emerald pastures, silver lakes, and mist-laced woodlands — a realm of quiet beauty ruled by the matriarchs of House Fairwyn. Since the first men set foot in Westara, the Fairwyns have stood as the elves’ closest human allies, sharing a taste for refinement, artistry, and subtle power. Their society is matriarchal, formal, and deeply secretive, veiling influence behind silk, ceremony, and whispered counsel. Beneath this elegance rides the finest cavalry in the realm — disciplined, swift, and bred from the finest bloodlines of horse and rider alike. In Greenmere, grace and steel walk side by side, and beneath every rose-laced balcony lies a will as unyielding as ancient oak.

Landmarks

Caelwyn

Ancestral Seat of House Fairwyn
The Vined Hearth

Caelwyn is one of the smallest cities in the realm, yet none would dare call it lesser. Like the elves they so closely admire, the people of Greenmere refine before they expand — perfecting stonework, sculpture, music, and law until each detail borders on art. Marble courtyards bloom with roses, banners ripple above polished avenues, and pageantry is not reserved for festivals but woven into daily life. Elven envoys and travelers pass freely through its gates, welcomed with open arms and honored seats at every table — a practice quietly frowned upon by much of the realm. Caelwyn does not apologize. It has chosen beauty, alliance, and quiet defiance over popular approval.

The Green Plains

The Great Plains of Westara
Endless Field of Green

The Green Plains stretch wide across Westara like a living sea of grass — endless, wind-swept, and thunderous with hooves. Here roam the finest wild horses in the realm, fierce and untamed, bred by open sky and long horizons. For centuries, the people of Greenmere have possessed an uncanny gift for mastering these steeds, shaping them into the most disciplined and formidable cavalry mounts in existence. From these plains rose the Fairwyn war-host, unmatched in speed and precision. It is even said that, over generations of patience and daring, the Fairwyns claimed the legendary pegasi from the skies above the plains — and ow their elite Valkyries ride winged into battle, descending like divine judgment upon their foes.

Thistlehearth

Musical Haven of the Realm

Home of the Bard's College

Thistlehearth rests along the border of Kingsreach, a lively jewel of Greenmere where refinement and revelry share the same breath. By day, its galleries and ateliers display some of the finest art in the realm; by night, lantern-lit balconies and music-filled courtyards awaken into a whirl of velvet, wine, and whispered scandal. Elegant yet unapologetically wild in its own fashion, the town thrives on performance and expression. At its heart stands the famed Bard’s College, where only the most gifted are admitted — and where tomorrow’s legends test their craft before discerning crowds. In Thistlehearth, beauty is not merely admired; it is performed, perfected, and celebrated until dawn.
